After a million-dollar makeover, the former Kaya emerges as a palatial bling beacon, bridging south Peachtree and South Beach. The club's 25,000 square feet of floor space can pack in more than 2,000 revelers, while its six bathrooms (one unisex) provide 62 stalls. The colossal dance floor dwarfs the more loungey sections--including the several angular seating areas and the outdoor patio--but nothing tops access into one of the club's five VIP areas.
While Kaya had a notorious weekend see-and-be-scene line curling out front, its dim lighting dulled extravagant plumage. No longer. The white walls and underlit blues and reds of the six bars gleam, providing a mammoth arena for flash to flourish, as dress codes remain strict (no jeans or athletic wear). The Friday hip-hop and more relaxed Saturday disco/house sounds raining down on the crowd are as crisp as the decor, but considering its size, the club could benefit from more bass in the mix.
On Friday, tables can be reserved for $300, which includes a 10-person guest list and a bottle of Moet.
Vision's main entrance is in front, while those willing to pay double the cover can use the cut line in back.
Planned are a Tuesday hip-hop industry night, a Thursday Latin and international night, as well as special engagements of big-name DJs.
Cocktails range from $7 to $9. A wide range of champagnes are available from $100 to $500 a pop.
